About

Forced by the hand of the father-in-law… but not to which you are thinking. It really wasn’t forced anyway, more like a push. The man I speak of, WC3T, pushed me to obtain a lifelong goal of mine. That goal? To get my ticket.

Hi, I’m K3HDG Eric Nazareth, PA, a licensed Technician amateur radio operator as well as GMRS licensed [WQXF789]. I am a member of the ARRL, and LVARC [W3OI]. By day I am machine programmer and controls specialist for a leading powder compacting hydraulic press manufacturer, by night I am a late-thirty-something father to 3 wonderful children named Molly, Liam, and Madeline, a husband, a gamer, a geek, and of course a ham.

You can follow my exploits and adventures in the ham radio hobby by following me on Instagram or by subscribing to my YouTube channel. At this time, 3 years into this hobby, I feel like I am still getting started… so there might not be much here yet!

My equipment currently consists of a Kenwood TM-733A for 2-meter and 70-centmeter operation from my QTH, a Kenwood TS-440SAT for HF operation, a Kenwood TH-D74 for portable and D-Star operation, a KX3/PX3 for QRP and DXing, and an Anytone AT-D878UV w/ GPS for DMR.

As you can see from that list, I have quite the aspiration to do different things within the hobby of amateur radio. The next step for me will be obtaining my General class license to start taking advantage of HF. I am also highly interested in DXing via digital modes and low power.

I look forward to learning much more about this hobby and sharing my experiences along the way, I hope you’ll join me!
